Aims and scope:
This is a course of English as a second language for schoolchildren aged 8 to 12. Besides covering all the elements of traditional EFL courses, such as vocabulary, grammar, listening and writing skills, this course introduces schoolchildren to information and communication technologies, and their use in education. The course will be entirely taught online, and all exercises will be selected to introduce participants into important educational technologies such as video conferencing, text messaging, e-mail, interactive whiteboards, internet search, blogging, or gamification. Open to schoolchildren from all around the world, this course also promotes global values such as sustainable development, equal opportunities and intercultural dialogue. By the end of the course, participants should have improved their communication skills in English language, and be better prepared for learning in the digital age.
Methodology:
This course will be entirely taught online. It will consist of a one-hour video-conference per day, from Monday to Friday.
